When I first experienced Doug's ministry as a teen, I found it to be in stark contrast to the fun-and-games, just-smile-and-get-along Christianity I had found so common growing up. Doug had powerful things to say about a Christ who wanted to revolutionize my life, and was quick to point out that the life I lived looked nothing like the life God had planned for me. I can't overestimate the degree to which God used Doug's ministry to bring me to a place of complete surrender in Christ.

It was also as a teen that my wife walked away from the atheistic beliefs she was raised with and into a life of devotion to Jesus. Also under Doug's preaching. His ministry has shaped vast places in my life.
